Function Speaker
Mike is an experienced speaker, the winner of many speaking awards
including the Toastmasters International Auckland District Humours
Speech competition, the New Zealand Impromptu speech competition
and the ASB/People in Parks 'Gift of the Gab Competition' The BNZ
Cup for Oratory. He is also the author of Successful Speechmaking.
Michael has a series of presentations available designed to cover
the requirements of a range of audiences. All include an element
of humour.
'So you want to be an author, Eh!'
A humorous look at the trials of becoming published. The presentation
also examines the changes taking place in the publishing industry
as a result of the Internet.
'Falling in love with Big Aggie'
A humorous account of Mike's sailing experiences (based in part
on Mike's book 'Big Aggie Sails The Gulf'). Particularly suitable
for sports and social clubs.
'What happens if you look at nude woman?'
A humorous look at Mike's experiences at 'Training Ship Mercury'
during the 1960's, where he was 'sent' by his mother at the age
of thirteen after being caught reading a copy of 'The Playboy'.
The Mercury was arguably the toughest school in England at the time.
Testimonials
Thank you for your presentation. Your talk was thoroughly entertaining,
funny yet serious and I enjoyed it immensely.
John Langford - Marauder Owners Association (Yacht Club)
On behalf of all members I write to thank you for being our guest
speaker
every member we have met has said how much they all
enjoyed your talk and that they were fascinated by your comments
on authorship.
Bill Turnecliffe - The Royal New Zealand Air Force Association.
Thank you very much for your fascinating and very professional presentation
last evening. Feed-back has been very positive - I have already had
four phone calls from members congratulating me on finding such a
speaker
As I said last evening, our all-male membership is hard
to please and is a measure of your skill with an audience that you
had them so quiet and attentive. From where I was sitting, you could
have heard a pin drop.
